MISSION

The King Abdulaziz University Hospital is vested with
the commitment to provide :
- theoretical
and practical education for students.
- treatment
and health education for patients and other members of
the community
- teaching
and training for its staff

research

| It is the mission of
the King Abdulaziz
University Hospital and of the Outpatient Facilities
to provide a spectrum of tertiary health care services of
highly professional quality to the community as far as
basically needful for a modern, comprehensive and thorough
medical education of students of medicine, nursing and medical technology comprising the acquisition of sound
hands-on experience. |
| Besides the health
care services to patients and the teaching and training of
students, a third (3rd) part of the mission, equivalent in
value and importance, is directed to scientific research
activities which are of a standard for publication in
scientific journals or during seminars/congresses and/or
are suitable for ongoing joint research work together with
institutions of other universities. |

Accordingly, the
goals of the King Abdulaziz
University Hospital with its Outpatient
Facilities are
defined as follows:
- Provision
of advanced (tertiary care level)
"state-of-the-art" health care services.
- Teaching
and training of students, patients, physicians, nurses
and other staff.
- Establishment
of research activities oriented on measurable results
which are preferably, but not exclusively related
to epidemiological significant or otherwise
important health issues of the Western Region .

Objectives
|
The objectives of
the
King Abdulaziz
University Hospital and its Outpatient Facilities
focus on the establishment of a
success facilitating environment
to achieve the set goals. To develop this environment, a
periodical purposeful review has to be implemented and
innovative actions have to be taken. This specific success
facilitating environment is described by the following
summary of inherent capabilities:
- To
optimize the care of patients in order to provide a
maximum benefit to the patient
- To
provide optimal educational facilities in order to
grant a maximum benefit to the curricula of the King
Abdulaziz University College of Medicine and Health Sciences
- To
support clinical and other research opportunities for
the Faculty and Hospital staff in order to provide maximum
benefit to the society, the hospital and the
researcher from the results of such research activities.
