Abstract : This study is concerned about the main source of life which is water. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Government focused on this vital source in terms of improvements and developments. The study aims to identify the developments of the drinking water network in Jeddah City, and its suitability for the population growth and the sprawl of the City. It also highlights the obstacles that affect the efficiency of water and quantification of waste leakage, to identify areas of damage in parts of the network, and the most affected neighborhoods. To achieve these goals, the descriptive analytical method was used, in addition to some quantitative and statistical methods. Questionnaires was used too, to collect data and information by the participants in the drinking water network in order to measure their satisfaction with the service provided to them by the National Water Company. The style of sample class method was adopted to determine the size of the study population which included the sample (59) neighborhoods and investigated (600) common participant in the drinking water network. Hence, the most important results of this study were that the deterioration of the subnets conditions and lines that feed residential units, plus the reduction of water availability for a person, which amounted to 226 liters / day compared with the level of the individual Saudi, which amounted to 286 liters / day. As there is a direct correlation between population growth, sprawl and distribution of water by tankers to provide water for the population. Finally, the study concluded with several recommendations that perhaps might be useful in finding a better distribution of drinking water services in the city of Jeddah.
