A plethora of resolutions were adopted by the Senate of King Abdulaziz University (KAU) at its fifth meeting held Thursday at the senate hall.
Chaired by Prof Abdurrahman Alyoubi KAU President, on behalf of the Minister of Education, the meeting was attended by Dr Mohammed A. Al-Saleh, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council, Prof Abdullah Mohorji, Vice President, Prof Abdul Fattah Mashat, Vice President for Development, Prof Abdullah O. Bafil, Vice President for Projects, and other deans of deanships and faculties.
The meeting approved a service contract between the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Plymouth University, UK.
A service contract between the Department of Biological Chemistry and Oxford University was also approved.
The final accounts of the General Administration for Self-finance for the fiscal year 2015/2016 was also approved.
The meeting also approved the University’s final accounts for the fiscal year 2015/2016.
Renewal of the external audit contract to inspect the accounts of the General Administration for Self-finance in the fiscal year 2015/2016 was also approved.
The meeting also approved the university's annual report and the number of admission intake for the academic year 2015/2016.
Some other appointments, reappointments, promotions and dispatches were also approved.
Recommendations regarding establishing new departments, changing the names of others and approving academic plans of some departments and academic programmes were also put forward.
