Faculty of Marine Sciences celebrates acquisition of accreditation from IMarEST

A special ceremony was held by the Faculty of Marine Sciences in celebration of its accreditation by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), UK.
The event was attended by KAU President, Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, and Prof Abdil-Fattah Mashat, Vice President for Development.
In his speech, Prof Tayyeb expressed his sheer delight with the achievement.
"The achievement attests to our ongoing commitment and dedication to providing the highest quality of education", he said.
Prof Abdil-Fattah Mashat, Vice President for Development, seized the opportunity to praise the faculty for its sterling efforts to obtain the accreditation, stressing KAU's commitment and dedication to acquire accreditations from reputable accrediting bodies around the world.
Dr Ali Al-Aidaroos, the faculty's dean, congratulated all faculty's academic, administrative and technical members of staff and students on the achievement, maintaining that it was a milestone to be celebrated.
He also pointed out that accreditation was the outcome of a lengthy and rigorous two-year self-examination process to demonstrate compliance with academic standards and accreditation criteria.
At the end of the celebration, members of the accreditation team and those who were directly linked to the accomplishment were honoured by Prof Tayyeb. |
