IEI to host 12th meeting of heads of economics and Islamic economics departments of Saudi universities

 Under the patronage of acting KAU President, Prof Abdurrahman Alyoubi, the 12th meeting of heads of departments of economics and Islamic economics in the universities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was organised Wednesday at Sheikh Saleh Kamil Auditorium by the Islamic Economics Institute (IEI).

The event is held annually with the purpose of bringing together heads of economics and Islamic economics departments to exchange views and discuss ways and means of serving Islamic economics, according to Dr Abdullah Turkistani, IEI director.

It is aimed at preparing and improving curricula and teaching materials and encouraging the teaching of various economic articles from an Islamic perspective, he also added.

 The Islamic Economics Institute (IEI) is due to host the 12th meeting of heads of departments of economics and Islamic economics in the universities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday from 15-16 April.

An agreement between the IEI, SABIC Chair for Islamic Financial Market Studies and Sheikh Mohammed Al-Rashid Research Chair for Islamic Banking Studies was formalized during the event.
