Procedures of Consultant Request

  1. A consultant shall be working within his own area of interest. In case that a conflict has arisen between the given consultancy and the consultant's area of interest, all justifications shall be reported.
  2. A consultancy shall be maximally for a renewable term of one whole year.
  3. A consultancy shall be approved and renewed as per a letter of the Ministry of Higher Education upon a recommendation of both boards of the concerned department and faculty as well as a consent of the Chancellor. No any person shall be requested in prior to the given consents.
  4. A consultancy shall not be of a conflict with the given faculty member's basic duties at the University, as follows:

a)     The academic load mainly assigned to the given faculty member shall not be less than the minimal limit at his university or faculty. It is possible to exclude those faculty members who are assigned with certain administrative duties at the given university or faculty such as deans, vice-deans, heads of departments, directors of research centers.

b)     The given faculty member undertakes to be available during the specified office hours.

c)      The given faculty member, mainly in reference to the applied faculties and departments, undertakes to be available during the officially specified hours at the clinics, laboratories or computer centers.

d)     The given faculty member undertakes to contribute in the membership of his department's committees and boards, and to insist on the attendance of the meetings of these given committees and boards.

  1. An academic return shall come out of the given consultancy. This return is mainly represented by the development of the given faculty member's capabilities and opportunities to enrich his theoretical and empirical knowledge.
  2. A given faculty member may not present his consultancy to more than one of the private sector's bodies at the same time. He may not also present his consultancy to any of the private bodies together with any of the public departments which are subject to Ministerial Council's regulations.
  3. A given faculty member may not be occupied with a job contract or given consultancy unless he has obtained a sabbatical.
  4. A consultant shall present the Minister of Higher Education an annual report, during and at the end of work, covering all works and duties having been accomplished. The Chancellor shall be provided with a copy of this aforesaid report.

            9.Both Ministry of Higher Education and concerned universities shall not be liable for any disputes which may arise between the faculty member and the given private body
