On behalf of HE KAU president Prof. Abdulrahman Al Youbi, KAU Vice-president HE Prof. Abdullah Mahraji coronated winners of the first place in the deanship of students Affaires contest programs during the closing ceremony of students' activities for academic year 2015-2016 organized by the deanship on Tuesday may 3rd at the Deanship Theater.
The University Star title was awarded in its tenth season to Mansour bin Mohamed Al Jadani from the faculty of law with an percentage of 75,.745 whereas the second place of the same title was awarded to student Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Junaid from the faculty of arts and humanities with a percentage of 74.915. the third place of the same title was awarded to student Al Hassan Fareed Jawah from the faculty of economics and management with a percentage of 70.37%. In the University Poet contest, student Ahmed bin Jabran Al Shalfout from the faculty of computers and information technology achieved first place. The second place was achieved by student Abdulaziz Al Youbi from the faculty of engineering. The third place was achieved by student Abdulrahman bin Mbareck Makhashen from the faculty of computers.
The Faculty of law was crowned with the first place in the volunteering contest #My_Specialty_is_in_Serving_my_country with its volunteering project "For you and by You" which aims at spreading awareness among Saudis working for the private sector of their duties and rights. The second place was awarded to the faculty of science for it project "Invest it" which aims at spreading awareness about the importance of investing the food rest-overs in making organic compounds (food and medicinal) of economic, industrial and medical importance and to reduce potential environmental and health risks. The third place was awarded to the faculty of meteorology for its project: "Awareness about the importance of recycling trash materials".
.The first place in the Golden Sail was awarded to the faculty of management and economics. The second place was won by the faculty of engineering and the third place by the faculty of law. In the fourth periodical index of student's activities, the first place was awarded to the faculty of engineering. The second place was awarded to the faculty of economics and the third to the faculty of law. After that, commemorative pictures were taken for the occasion.
The ceremony also witnessed theatrical show presented by the theater club entitled "A talk with planets" as well as a speech by the ceremony sponsor HE KAU Vice-president in which he thanked the Deanship of students affaires for its fruitful efforts during the academic year and congratulated winners among students and faculties that have been awarded first place in the different contests.
The Dean of students' affaires Prof. Abdulmonim Al Hayani indicated that the Deanship is keen on encouraging students to interact with extracurricular activities that play a vital role in the educational process. Such activities have become the object of an unprecedented support from KAU president and vice-president. A strategy for these activities has been set to focus on positive aspect of competition among students and faculties.
From his part, the Vice-dean for cultural and social activities Dr. Masood Al Gahtani stressed on the importance of students activities as they are part of the educational alliance in which the Deanship seeks to attract students to participate and interact in these activities. He added that this year's programs recorded a very important participation ratio among students in all sports, science and culture fields.
