KAU Poetry contest concludes

Eight emerging poets competed Tuesday for the Best KAU Poet Prize in a contest run by the Deanship of Students' Affairs.

Judges were particularly interested in evaluating the entrants' imagery, imagination and linguistic wit in the Nabati poetry, also known as 'the people's poetry' and 'Bedouin poetry'. This type of poetry has been a feature of life in the Arabian Peninsula since the 16th century.

The Prize will be announced and awarded at a special event held as part of the end of extracurricular activities ceremony.
