Press release of second 2014/2015 senate meeting

A plethora of resolutions were adopted by the Senate of King Abdulaziz University (KAU) Senate met December 4th for its regular second meeting.
Chaired by KAU President, Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, the meeting was attended by Dr Mohammed A. Al-Saleh, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council, Prof Abdurrahman Alyoubi, Vice President for Educational Affairs, Prof Adnan H. Zahed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof Abdullah M. Mohorji, Vice President, Dr Abdul-Fattah Mashat, Vice President for Development, Dr Ahmed H. Nagadi, Vice President for Business and Knowledge Creativity, Prof Abdullah O. Bafil, Vice President for Projects, and other deans of deanships and faculties.
The meeting approved the KAU Third Strategic Plan 2014/2018.
A donation worth SR2 million from Samba Financial Group (SFG) was accepted.
The final accounts and annual financial statements of the Students' Fund for the fiscal year 2014/2015 were also approved.
Renewal of a service contract between the KAU Faculty of Engineering and Missouri University was approved.
Renewal of a service contract between the KAU Faculty of Engineering and Texas A&M University, USA, was approved.
An agreement between KAU and Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. was approved.
A recommendation as to move the Department of Communication Skills from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities to the Faculty of Communication and Media was also approved.
Some other appointments, reappointments, promotions and dispatches were also approved.
